We built our Garage Door Cable Repair service around St. Augustine, FL customers who need a specialist, not a generalist working outside their depth.
Every St. Augustine, FL technician on this service line carries documentation you can ask to see, and we expect the question.
We check both cables and both drums together, since wear rarely happens in isolation.
Galvanized aircraft cable resists fraying far longer than standard cable in humid St. Augustine, FL conditions.
Every job includes a post-repair tension and balance check.
A visibly fraying cable is treated as a near-term emergency.
Even a few loose strands mean a cable is close to failing under load — replacement cable gets sized to match your spring tension exactly.
A cable that's already snapped usually means the door dropped or hangs crooked — emergency replacement is stocked specifically because this can't wait.
A cable that's slipped off its drum causes uneven hanging — worn or cracked drums get replaced rather than reused.
Extension spring systems should run safety cables to prevent whip-back — we add these where missing.
The bracket anchoring the cable to the door corrodes over time — this is a less obvious but equally important part of the system.
